English wicketkeeper Matt Prior's big money move to play in the newly launched Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) has been blocked by the English Cricket Board.
The England team's managing director Hugh Morris has refused to give Prior a non-objection certificate amidst fear that the BPL T20 franchises might have insufficient medical provisions if he gets injured.
He has been forced to withdraw from the BPL after The Players' Union (PCA) also articulated concerns about security, The Sun reports.
Prior will not only lose out on big money for less than a month's work but will also miss out on an opportunity to show the England selectors that he still has the potential in him to play for England in the limited-over format.
He would have pulled out of the BPL if he was selected for England's one-dayers against Pakistan.
