England spinner Monty Panesar has been included in the team for the three- match Test series against Pakistan between January and February 2012.
He, alongwith Graeme Swann, would be crucial in launching twin spin attack on the slow pitches in the United Arab Emirates.
Panesar was selected after claiming two wickets in grade cricket in Sydney, where he hogged the limelight with his singing performance.
His performance showed he has become more confident and extrovert than when he last played Test cricket in 2009.
England selectors believe that he would show confidence in bowling too, The Sun reports.
Panesar had earlier been included in the 16- member squad for the 2010 Ashes tour.
Eoin Morgan, Chris Tremlett Stuart Broad and Tim Bresnan are included since they have recovered from their injuries.
