Monte Carlo: Giancarlo Fisichella came agonisingly close to scoring Force India's maiden Formula One points before eventually finishing ninth, while his German teammate Adrian Sutil came 14th at the Monaco Grand Prix here on Sunday.
For the second successive year, Force India experienced heartbreak at Monaco as Fisichella, running eighth after 53 laps, seemed gunning for points before dropping down and finishing just outside the point bracket.
Button masters Monaco for fifth win
Last year, it was Sutil who was running fourth here with four laps to go when Kimi Raikkonen crammed his Ferrari onto the Force India car to end his race.
Having managed their best start of the season with Fisichella starting the race 13th on the grid and Sutil on 15th, Force India had a lot to look forward to as the Italian was up in the 11th after 28 laps.
By lap 40, Fisichella had cut through the midfield clutter to rise to ninth. With Heikki Kovalainen cramming his McLaren into the swimming pool wall after 53 laps, Fisichella was among the points at eighth place.

Brawn had yet another one-two race with Jenson Button cruising to his fifth win of the season, ahead of teammate Rubens Barrichello.
