Melbourne: Wicketkeeper Brad Haddin and paceman Peter Siddle are expected to return from injuries for Australia's opening match of the 2010-11 summer season after being included Monday in the Twenty20 squad to play Sri Lanka.

Michael Clarke will lead the squad against Sri Lanka in Perth on Sunday.

Batting allrounder Shane Watson was also recalled after having a break during Australia's rain-restricted 1-0 limited-overs series loss in India.

Mitchell Johnson and Mike Hussey were omitted from the T20 lineup in order to play domestic first-class cricket to prepare for the upcoming Ashes series against England.

Haddin has overcome a persistent elbow injury and will resume his spot at the expense of Tim Paine, who covered as wicketkeeper in the 2-0 test series loss and the ODI series loss in India this month.

Siddle recovered from a back injury to win one of four fast bowling spots in the 12-man T20 squad. The other pacemen are Dirk Nannes, Clint McKay and John Hastings.

"It's exciting to see the return of Peter Siddle and Brad Haddin into international cricket as part of this squad," Australian selector Andrew Hilditch said. "Peter is a key bowler in all forms of the game.

"It is unfortunate for Tim Paine, having played so well for Australia recently, to miss out on this squad but Brad has made a very good recovery from his elbow injury and is an established member of our side in all forms of the game."

Squad: Michael Clarke (captain), Cameron White, Brad Haddin, John Hastings, David Hussey, Clint McKay, Dirk Nannes, Stephen O'Keefe, Peter Siddle, Steve Smith, David Warner, Shane Watson.
