Anil Kumble might be a happy coach after India defeated New Zealand by a massive 197 runs to take a 1-0 lead in the three-match Test series.

However, in a bizarre incident, Kumble's glasses and cap were stolen at the Green Park stadium in Kanpur where the first Test was played.

According to a report published in SonyESPN, the incident took place during the felicitation ceremony on Day One.

The head coach was invited for the felicitation ceremony organised by the BCCI to honour former India captains on the occasion of the 500th Test.

When Kumble's turn came, the head coach left his glasses and cap behind and went to the stage to receive a memento and a shawl. To Kumble's surprise, his cap and glasses were missing by the time he came back to his seat.

Despite the presence of strong police force, the theft happened and has left the BCCI in a bit of an embarrassment.

After taking over as the head coach, this is the second time something like this has happened to Kumble. Earlier, during India's tour of West Indies, Kumble's kit was left behind at the London airport.
