Port of Spain: India entered the final of the Tri-Nation series after beating Sri lanka by 81 runs (D/L method) in a rain curtailed match on Tuesday.

Sri Lanka needed to chase a revised target of 178 runs from 26 overs to win after the Indian innings was disrupted by rain.

India could bat for only 29 overs and scored 119/3. Rohit Sharma (48 not out) and Suresh Raina (4 not out) were at the crease when rain arrived.

Chasing the revised target, Sri Lanka ran into trouble right from the start. After Bhuvneshwar's ferocious show, spinners Ravindra Jadeja and R Ashwin kep p the pressure to leave Sri Lanka in tatters in the last league clash of the tri-series at Port of Spain.

Jadeja first removed Lanka skipper Angelo Mathews and then ended Dinesh Chandimal's challenge to reduce the opponent to 63/6 in 16 overs in their chase of 178. Ashwin then added to Lankan misery by bowling out Jeevan Mendis.

Mathews edged Jadeja to man behind the stumps Dinesh Karthik while Chandimal was stumped out.

Pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar rattled Sri Lanka's top order by dismissing Upul Tharanga, Kumar Sangakkara, Mahela Jayawardene and Lahiru Thirimanne in quick succession.

India needed to keep Sri Lanka down to 167 to qualify for the final, which they did in style.
