Injured Sania to miss US Open

India's top woman player Sania Mirza will miss the U.S. Open because of a wrist injury, media reported on Friday.

The 21-year-old Mirza has slipped to 63 in the WTA rankings due to an injury-plagued season.

She underwent wrist surgery in April but the problem resurfaced at the Beijing Olympics, forcing her to retire in the singles first round.
