Chennai Super Kings
Don't bet against the defending champions making it a hat-trick.
A winning squad needs no tinkering with and the only new addition is Ravindra Jadeja, who'll probably slot in for the unfortunate Shadab Jakati and lengthen an already long batting line-up.
Michael Hussey will arrive late from national duty which opens up a vacancy at the top. Wriddhiman Saha or Aniruddha Srikanth, both of whom open for their states in domestic T20s, could get a chance to parade their wares in the meantime.
The middle order looks intimidating with Suresh Raina, the highest run getter in IPL history, being followed by MS Dhoni, whose aura may have diminished in the last year but is still substantial.
The presence of three allrounders in Dwayne Bravo, Albie Morkel and Jadeja is CSK's biggest asset, giving the side an uber-balanced look.
That troika will assist CSK's two genuine strike bowlers - Doug Bollinger and R Ashwin - while Nuwan Kulasekara's recent ODI heroics with ball and bat should catapult him into the playing XI once he recovers from his hamstring strain.
