Kolkata: Kolkata Knight Riders batsman Manoj Tiwary, who scored a sparkling 35 of 22 balls against Mumbai Indians Sunday, was all praise for senior pro Jacques Kallis for the way the South African helped him play his natural game.
"He said just play according to the merit of the ball. He guided me really well and helped me play my natural game," Tiwary said after his cameo. Kallis played a supporting role as the pair put on 45 for the third wicket to steer their team out of trouble after they were 22/2.
"I was hitting the ball quite well. I am very thankful to all the support staff and all the senior players in the side guiding me along," Tiwary said when asked about his good batting form.
Tiwary, with 355 runs, is so far the second highest scorer for the Kolkata Knight Riders after Kallis (417) in the ongoing tournament.
Asked about his run out, he said: "It was my mistake, I couldn't make it to the crease on time and Bhajji really did well. It was all my fault."
