Following the retirement of Mahendra Singh Dhoni from Tests, Kohli has been appointed as the captain of India’s Test team and has led India to series wins over Sri Lanka and South Africa. Kohli is already a legend in the limited overs formats of the game and while his Test batting average could do with some improvement, he has scored four centuries in four Tests in Australia. Kohli’s captaincy has been particularly impressive and he has said that he would strive to go all out for victory rather than playing conservatively for a draw. He has stated his intention of playing five bowlers in the playing XI as this increases India’s chances of victory. With new head coach Anil Kumble giving the licence to go for the kill, Kohli will aim to start the tour on a winning note.
