Deposed IPL Commissioner Lalit Modi has fired a fresh salvo at the Chennai Super Kings franchise. Modi tweeted that three CSK players have links to a bookie cum real estate magnate who gave them flats.
"Just been informed from reliable sources 3 players from chennai super kings have been hanging around with a nightclub owner/ real estate king who also runs a book and is a big punter and given these boys flats in his new bandra sea face complex, noida in del," said Modi.
He also claimed that the bookie was linked to former CSK official Gurunath Meiyappan as well as a few other IPL team owners: "Concerned book maker real estate tycoon has close links with Guru and a few other owners."
"Police needs to investigate into this and see if any truth. Apparently amount is 20 crores. 1 of them is an intl player. Further if the news is correct - this person was blacklisted whilst I was chairman from bidding for a team in year 3," he continued.
Modi, however, declined to the name the players or the bookie. "Sorry cant put names on twitter. I have officially written to Icc to ask Acsu to verify and check and then it's for them to decide," he added.
