Australian media is reporting that the final of the 2015 Cricket World Cup will be held at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, with the semifinals set for Sydney and Auckland, New Zealand.
The official announcement of the two seven-team pools and venues for the 14-team tournament being co-hosted by Australia and New Zealand is scheduled to be made later Tuesday.
India is the defending champion of the one-day international tournament after winning the 2011 title when it was hosted by India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. The event is held every four years.
The teams for the 2015 tournament, which will be held in February and March of that year, include all 10 Test-playing nations, Ireland and three teams to be determined in qualifying tournaments.
