Sources in the Pune Warriors camp have indicated that they are seeking the services of Aussie skipper Michael Clarke for the forthcoming IPL season.
According to a Kolkata newspaper, senior Warriors player Sourav Ganguly said, "We're on the verge of signing Clarke. However, he will be available from May,"
Clarke is expected to be free after the Australian tour of the West Indies, which ends on April 27.
If he's available, he could still play the last seven matches for the Warriors in the group stage.
Clarke has previously shown no interest in the IPL and has not even put up his name for the auction.
He retired from T20 Internationals last year to concentrate on Tests and ODIs.
Pune Warriors still have one overseas slot left. The other overseas players they have signed up for this season are James Hopes, Steven Smith, Luke Wright and Marlon Samuels.
