'Miracle' Giggs pens down new deal with Manchester United

Manchester United midfield maestro Ryan Giggs has signed a new contract with the club and has been described as 'miracle' by his manager Sir Alex Ferguson.iggs will play his 22nd season for the Old Trafford club after making his debut for the club in March 1991.

In his time at the club, he has made a club record of 898 appearances, scoring 162 goals, and won 12 Premier League titles, four FA Cups, three League Cups, two Champions Leagues, one Super Cup, an Intercontinental Cup and a FIFA Club World Cup.

Ferguson praised Giggs for his hard work and determination to keep him fresh for new challenges.

"Ryan is a marvelous player. In many ways, he epitomizes all my teams here at United; he has constantly re-invented himself, adapted to the changing nature of the game and retained that desire and hunger for success," The Telegraph quoted Ferguson, as saying.

He also said he was unaware of how he does so much hard work and described it as a miracle.

"I don't know how he does it. It is a miracle. His form this season has been the same as the last five or six. His fitness has been incredible and his appetite to play is just the same. We are all delighted," he said.

Giggs on the other hand is happy to be able to still contribute in United's success.

"When I signed my first contract, I never thought I'd be able to play at United for 22 years, but I feel good and I know I can still contribute to keeping the team pushing for honors," said Giggs.

He said winning the 19th title was a historic moment for him and he is pleased to be a part of it.

"Winning the club's 19th title was a great feeling but this club is all about what we do next and I'm really pleased I can be part of that," he added. (ANI)
