The Faisalabad Wolves recorded a close 10–run win over the Kardurata Maroons in the penultimate qualifier of the Champions League T20 in Mohali on Friday.
The Maroons put up a valiant fight, but wickets fell at regular intervals and only Kumar Sangakkara could manage a decent score of 44, as the Wolves kept a lid on the scoring rate.
Ehsan Adil and Imran Khalid took two wickets apiece, conceding only 39 runs between them off seven overs.
Earlier, Misbah-ul-Haq played a lone hand in the Faisalabad Wolves' effort as his 93 not out helped them to 146 for six, after the Maroons won the toss.
The Wolves were in trouble at 22 for three, but a captain's knock from Misbah propped up the innings, hit off only 60 deliveries and included six fours and five sixes.
Dilhara Lokuhettige finished with 3-21.
Both teams are now on their way home, as they have already been dumped from the tournament.
