Luka Modric's former Croatian teammate and good friend Mate Bilic has revealed that the Tottenham Hotspurs' star midfielder is on the brink of joining Spanish champions Real Madrid.
Bilic, who plays for Sporting Gijon, has claimed Modric is in awe of the Spanish La Liga, and a move is just round the corner.
"'I'm very good friends with Modric. He wants to play in the Spanish league. He loves the Premier League but he wants to play in Spain. He's very close to agreeing a move," The Daily Mail quoted Bilic, as saying.
Bilic's revelation comes after former Croatia and Real star Davor Suker claimed that the Tottenham man is good enough to be a galactico.
Manchester United, Manchester City and Chelsea are also keen to sign Modric, who wants to leave White Hart Lane for Champions League football. (ANI)
