[India], Mar 10 (ANI): Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma steered India to post a target of 359 for Australia in the fourth one-day international (ODI) of the five-match series here at the Punjab Cricket Association Stadium in Mohali on Sunday.

Dhawan and Sharma hammered the visitors with regular boundaries, stitching together a 193-run partnership for the first wicket before Australia got their much-needed breakthrough with the dismissal of Sharma at 95.

KL Rahul came in at number three for India, and, along with Dhawan, stitched a quick 61-run stand for the second wicket, which saw Dhawan bringing up his 16th ODI century off just 97 deliveries.

Australia were able to dismiss Dhawan in the 38th over as his stumps were cleaned up by Pat Cummins. The opener was dismissed after playing a sensational knock of 143.

The visitors succeeded in shrugging off some pressure as they dismissed Indian skipper Virat Kohli cheaply. The batsman was looking for quick runs but was dismissed by Richardson.

Coming into bat at number five, Rishabh Pant scored a quickfire knock of 36. Rahul was dismissed by Adam Zampa for 26 runs whereas Pant was dismissed by Cummins.

Australia were able to come back in the match as they kept scalping wickets in the death overs. However, Vijay Shankar's performance in the final two overs enabled the team to post 358 runs on board for the loss of nine wickets.

Cummins was the pick of the Aussie bowlers as he picked up five wickets. (ANI)
