Our dressing room is full of fun and frolic

The first 10 days of this IPL season are over and so far things have gone well for us. With each passing day we have flowered as a unit and are gradually settling down. Our dressing room is full of fun and frolic with players willing to back each other.

We are happy in each other’s success and support anyone, who is going through a tough time. Our team is full of characters and these vibrant colours from different parts of countries and the world bring enormous joy in the Mumbai Indian camp.

One of the biggest plus points is that since the IPL’s inception, the nucleus of the side has remained same. And that has helped to create a culture and to maintain it. And the pillar of this entire set up is Sachin Tendulkar. I don’t need to go into the details of what he brings to the table. But one thing that stands out is his work ethic and the simplicity attached with his achievements.

It may sound a very easy thing, but when you look at the impact of it, it is massive. It keeps everyone level headed and helps them to carry their performances with ease. Apart from him, credit goes to our owners who have handled this entire effort diligently and sensibly.

This entire team is very close to their heart and they do all what it takes to make us comfortable and relaxed. Even while planning and execution they don’t leave any stone unturned and have provided us all what is required in preparation and performance.

Is IPL just bad news for Shahrukh Khan?

This entire atmosphere leads us to perform better on the field. I have always maintained that the hallmark of a well-knit unit is the fielding effort on the field. You can score runs for yourself and take wickets for yourself, but fielding is one effort you do for the team. I would proudly say that we have one of the best fielding units in the tournament so far.

Coming back to our campaign, this break of few days was much needed to rejuvenate and set new targets. It allowed us to take a break from cricket to remain fresh. I took this opportunity to dash down to Delhi and meet my buddy Yuvraj Singh. I was so happy to see him back, happy and cured.  All through his fight with cancer, his attitude has been exemplary and worth following.

Our next game is against one of the very strong sides of the tournament. This new look Delhi Daredevils have one of the strongest batting line-up in the tournament and beating them won’t be a cake walk.  Our bowling will be tested by the likes of Virender Sehwag, Mahela Jayawardene and Kevin Pietersen.

After this small break our batteries are recharged and we are ready to take on the Devils at our home ground. Without over complicating things we would like to do our basics right, play with right intend and energy.

Let’s hope this would be a cracker of a match and our fans will have something cheer in Wankhede stadium.
