Australian accountant, Shane Basile smashed a 21-ball century for the Coomera-Hope Island Cricket Club sixth-grade side in a fixture against Burleigh Heads last Saturday.

'Big Bash Basile', as his team mates call him, cracked 126 runs from 27 balls smacking 19 sixes and two fours, and his innings included just three dot balls, included the one that clean-bowled him, News.com.au reports.

Coming in at No. 6 with his team struggling at 4-30, Basile was next man out with the team score on 190 and with 126 runs to his name.

Basile brought up his 100 from only 21 deliveries, which is four more than is possible.

Basile hit six sixes from the first seven balls he faced, then had two dot balls before 10 sixes from the next 11 balls including six sixes in one over.

Modest to the end, Basile said the venue, Frank Chasten Oval at Gilston, was hardly of MCG proportions.

Basile said after the match that it was all a little bit silly because the ground is not that big and the opposition bowlers weren't bowling well. (ANI)
