Parthiv to replace Mahela as Kochi skipper

Kochi: Parthiv Patel has been named captain of Kochi Tuskers Kerala for the rest of the tournament with regular skipper Mahela Jayawardene flying to England to join the Sri Lankan team. Jayawardene ended his stint with a thumping victory against the Rajasthan Royals in Indore yesterday.

The Tuskers will clash with Chennai Super Kings, which is Patel's former team, in their final match of the group stage in Chennai on Wednesday. The Tuskers have a slim chance of progressing to the play-offs depending on results of other games and net run rate.
