The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has dropped former Pakistan captain Inzamamul Haq as the team's batting consultant for the upcoming South African tour after resistance from team's head coach Dav Whatmore.
Whatmore reportedly told PCB chief Zaka Ashraf that he could take care of the batting issues and that former players should only be allowed to work with the team in training camps and not on tours, reports the Daily Times.
Inzamam was appointed as batting consultant by the PCB last month and was expected to be part of team's South Africa tour.
Inzamam did not accompany the national side that left for South Africa on Sunday to play three Tests and five one-day internationals.
He said he has not been in touch with the board since the India series.
A source said Whatmore started to show more dominance after the Indian tour, and apparently he was not happy with having a former heavyweight player like Inzamam in the team management. (ANI)
