Karachi: The Pakistan Cricket Board has approached the government for an advice on its players' participation in the third edition of the Indian Premier League, scheduled for March-April next year.

The PCB is willing to send its players to India and has even issued NOCs to the players as demanded by the IPL organisers but it can not let its players fly to India unless the government give them clearance.

Wasim Bari, the PCB chief operating officer, said they have sought government clearance.

"The PCB Chairman has made it clear that we have no objections to any player going to India for the IPL as long as he has a valid contract from a franchise or an offer but our clearance is subject to the government policy," Bari said.

PCB Chairman Ijaz Butt hoped they will get a nod from the government.

"Abdul Razzaq approached us with a contract from Kolkata Knight Riders and we have given him the NOC. Similarly some other players have also approached us. But obviously the final word will come from the government," Butt said.

The Pakistan government had not allowed its cricketers to fly to India for IPL-II early this year due to tense relations between the two countries after the Mumbai terror attacks.
