West Indies beat India by one wicket in Tri-Series thriller

Port-of-Spain: Sri Lanka were teetering on 60 for three when persistent rain caused the tri-series match against the West Indies to be suspended overnight in Port-of-Spain on Sunday.

Kumar Sangakkara had 11 and Lahiru Thirimanne was on 13 when play was called off, to be continued on Monday with the visitors having faced 19 overs.

Scorecard

Kemar Roach took two of the three wicket to fall, and Jason Holder claimed the other one.

Earlier, the West Indies won the toss and elected to field.

Captain Dwayne Bravo was suspended due to slow over-rate, and Kieron Pollard will take the reigns again in an important clash for both the hosts and Sri Lanka.

Should the home team win, they will be through to the final on Thursday, while victory would go a long way to ensure progression for the Lankans, especially with the best nett run-rate of the three teams. Success, with a bonus point today, will see Sri Lanka through.

If neither team win with a bonus point, the race is still wide open and will depend on the result between India and Sri Lanka on Tuesday.

Sunil Narine is out with injury and Denesh Ramdin has been dropped. The trio of Devon Smith, Holder and Lendl Simmons are taking their places in the team.

Sri Lanka have brought back Jeevan Mendis and Shaminda Eranga, leaving Kusal Perera and Rangana Herath on the side-line.
