Rohit Sharma is set to return for his state team, Mumbai, in the Vijay Hazare trophy knockouts in Alur, Bengaluru.
Mumbai topped their group by winning six out of the eight games they played. Chief selector, Ajit Agarkar, confirmed that Sharma is going to be available for selection and the team will be led by Shreyas Iyer. Mumbai coach Vinayak Samant told TOI, “It’s good to have a high-class international player like Rohit. He’s an ODI specialist and will make huge difference to the team.”
Sharma, last month, led India to the Asia Cup title and is in fine form as he scored 317 runs in five games. These Vijay Hazare matches will give the India opener a chance to get in the groove before the ODI series against the Windies, starting on October 21.
