Russell Brand has revealed that he wants to ask the Dalai Lama if his beloved football club West Ham United will avoid relegation, when they meet later this week.

The 37-year-old comedian, will act as host when the Tibetan spiritual leader, 76, addresses young people in Manchester on Saturday.

"I do have a question for him - tell me the secret, what is it? What is the answer? Why are we here? Why are we alive? What's consciousness? What is intuition? What is love? And how are these things happening?" the Mirror quoted him as saying.

"I want to know all that. Also, can West Ham stay up?" he added.

The Dalai Lama, who established the Tibetan government in exile, is giving a free talk to under-25s at the MEN Arena.

But Brand is not fazed about meeting him, saying he is "just going to try to be myself". (ANI)
