Andrew Strauss and Paul Collingwood struck well-compiled, unbeaten fifties as England took command of the first Test on Saturday.
At stumps on the third day, Strauss was batting on 73 and Collingwood on 60 as the visitors built a lead of 247 runs with seven second-innings wickets in hand.
