India vs Pakistan, World Cups, 1992-2015, India-6, Pakistan-0
Even though Pakistan has the edge over India in their head to head meetings in ODIs, India have a hegemony over Pakistan in their encounters in the World Cups. India enjoy 6-0 lead and no matter what Pakistan do they couldn’t reverse the trend. They seem to be beaten even before the step on to the field. In each of these matches an Indian player has stepped up up on the big occasion and won the match for his team, In1996, it was Ajay Jadeja’s breath taking assault on Waqar Younis at Bangalore, in 2003 it was Tendulkar’s and Sehwag’s domination over Shoaib Akhtar and Waqar Younis, while in 2015 it was a blistering century by Virat Kohli. Pakistan need to put these past reverses out of their mind if they are to have any chance in the Champion Trophy encounter on the 4th of June.
