Did you know that Playboy's second sell-out issue came 45 years after its first - the debut issue in 1953 that featured Marilyn Monroe in all her glory?

And this only after the magazine finally convinced a much-loved German sportswoman to do the full monty?

In between, every trick - known and unknown - had been tried.

From having a two-page centrefold (February 1954) to a three-page centrefold (March 1956). From running an Ian Fleming story (March 1960) to featuring a man on the cover (Peter Sellers in April 1964). From parading identical twins on the centrefold (October 1970) to even flaunting a full-frontal nude there (Live Lindeland in January 1971).
