Indian skipper Virat Kohli has become the fastest to score 19 hundreds in ODIs, reaching the landmark in just 124 innings.

Kohli achieved the feat in 65 innings fewer than his closest rival, West Indian Chris Gayle.

Sachin Tendulkar, in comparison, took 194 innings to make 19 tons while Sourav Ganguly required 197 innings.

Kohli's 136 was also the highest score by a captain in the Asia Cup, surpassing Ganguly's unbeaten 135, also against Bangladesh, in the 2000 edition.

It was Kohli's 12th hundred in a successful chase, next only to Tendulkar's 14.

In fact, Kohli has made only one century in a chase that has not resulted in victory, against New Zealand earlier this year.

The match also provided only the second instance of rival captains scoring centuries in the same ODI, with Mushfiqur Rahim making a ton earlier in the day.

The only previous occasion was in a match between Ireland and England at Dublin last September when William Porterfield made 112 and Eoin Morgan made an unbeaten 124.
