The WBA, WBO and IBF world heavyweight champ Wladimir Klitshcko has said he came close to knocking Dereck Chisora after he spat on his face in the ring before his brother Vitali's fight with Chisora started.
He admitted that it was really hard for him to control his anger at that point.
Wladimir was standing in his elder brother Vitali's corner for the WBC version of the world crown on the night when he beat Chisora on points to retain his title.
"I really had to hold myself back. To be honest, I don't know how I managed to keep myself under control. All champions such as Muhammad Ali, George Foreman and Joe Louis were all great examples in how to behave," The Sun quoted Wladimir, as saying.
Wladimir said Chisora was a disgrace to his country.
"It's hurt the sport of boxing but we will polish it up again. I'm not saying British boxers are nuts, but the way Chisora had the Union Jack flag tied around his face and then behaved like that will not have pleased British fans," he said. (ANI)
