World T20: Nepal post big win

Nepal thrashed Hong Kong by 80 runs in their Qualifying Group A match of the World T20 played at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium, on Sunday.

Nepal had posted a competitive total of 149 for eight in their 20 overs of the T20 World Cup tie. Hong Kong were then bowled out for 69 in 17 overs. 

This was the second lowest total in the history of T20 World Cups. The highest score for Hong Kong was 20 from Babar Hayat. Basant Regmi and Shakti Gauchan took three wickets each.

Earlier, being sent in to bat after losing the toss, Nepal notched up 149 runs, losing eight wickets in allotted 20 overs. 

Vice-captain Gyanendra Malla top-scored with 48 runs off 41 balls, skipper Paras Khadka made 41 runs in 37 balls while Subas Khakurel contributed 22 runs in 16 balls. 

Gynendra Malla scored one six and four fours, skipper Paras Khadka and Subas Khakurel struck four fours each during their respective innings. 

For Hong Kong, Haseeb Amjad claimed three wickets, Nadeem Ahmed took two wickets while Najeeb Amar picked one wicket.
