Yebda winner hands Portsmouth first points of season

LONDON: A Hassan Yebda header handed Portsmouth their first Premier League points of the season with a 1-0 win away to Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday.

A much improved display ended a run of seven straight league defeats with a first-half Yebda header following a Kevin Prince-Boateng cross.

Burnley made it four wins from four at home to Birmingham City with a 2-1 victory at Turf Moor courtesy of strikes from Steven Fletcher and Andre Bikey, Sebastian Larsson scoring City's late goal.

Hull City put last week's 6-1 thrashing by Liverpool behind them with a 2-1 win at home to Wigan Athletic.

Dutch striker Jan Venegoor of Hesselink grabbed his first Hull goal on the hour before Brazilian midfielder Geovanni added a second with Scott Sinclair grabbing a consolation three minutes from time.

Tottenham Hotspur twice fought back from a goal down to draw 2-2 at Bolton Wanderers.


Leaders Manchester United host Sunderland in Saturday's late kickoff (1630).

On Sunday, the spotlight will fall on Stamford Bridge where second-placed Chelsea host Liverpool.
