[Pakistan], July 15 (ANI): Yorkshire have signed Pakistan skipper Sarfraz Ahmed as an overseas player for the ongoing NatWest T20 Blast.
The 30-year-old, who recently guided Pakistan to Champions Trophy glory, is likely to represent Yorkshire Vikings in five matches.
Reflecting on his signing, Sarfraz said that he is happy to keep wicket as required, ESPNcricinfo reported.
Teammate and former Pakistan ODI captain Azhar Ali also wished kudos to Sarfraz on Twitter.
Sarfraz, who has recently been appointed as Pakistan Test captain, will replace Australian batsman Peter Handscomb, who was scheduled to attend a training camp ahead of Australia's tour of Bangladesh which is now being caught up in the ongoing pay dispute.
Yorkshire are standing second in the North Group of the Blast, having won one out of four games they have played so far.
Sarfraz's signing is currently subjected to him getting a work permit.(ANI)
