Zimbabwe have not played a bilateral series in India since 2002. The 16-year wait was due to end this year but with the dates of the Indian Premier League 2019 announced, the African nation's proposed tour of India in March is in doubt.
The series, which was to comprise a Test and three one-day internationals has difficulty squeezing in between the two T20Is and five ODIs between India and Australia from February 24 and March 13 and the IPL which starts on 23rd.
According to ESPNcricinfo reports, the officials of Zimbabwe Cricket will sit down for a meeting with their BCCI counterparts next week to come to a conclusion about the tour. The options in front of the officials will be to either restructure the fixture to just ODIs and T20Is or cancel the tour altogether.
In the last 16 years, Zimbabwe have played 2016 World T20, 2011 World Cup and the 2006 Champions Trophy in India.
