Nagesh Kumar: Beyond monetary tightening
Rising food and oil prices are posing a major challenge for policy makers in the Asia-Pacific region. Since August 2010, food prices have risen in various countries between 10 per cent and 35 per cent. Oil prices have increased by 45 per cent over the past year. Concerns have been raised about the impact on vulnerable sections of population and on the poverty reduction efforts of populous countries
