White House: oil price drop should help consumers
The Obama administration wants to make sure consumers get the benefit at the gas pump from the recent drop in oil prices, White House spokesman Jay Carney said on Friday. Attorney General Eric Holder's task force set up to look into gas prices will review the tendency for oil price spikes to quickly hit consumers, whereas price drops take longer to trickle down to the retail level, Carney said.
