Strong earthquake hits Haiti
Washington: A strong earthquake with a magnitude of 7 on the Richter scale struck on Tuesday in the Caribbean nation of Haiti, the US Geological Survey in Washington said. A tsunami watch was issued for an area including Haiti, Cuba, the Bahamas and the Dominican Republic. The quake struck at 2153 GMT, some 15 km southwest of capital Port-au-Prince at a depth of 10 km.
