Publisher John Sargent Sr. dies in NYC at age 87
A former Doubleday publishing company CEO who worked with authors from Dwight Eisenhower to Stephen King has died in New York City. John Turner Sargent Sr. was 87.Sargent was the CEO of Doubleday in the 1960s and '70s. He helped recruit Jacqueline Kennedy as an editor.
