Punjab farmers shift to manual harvesting
Farming in Punjab is going back to the old days of manual harvesting. And that is not by compulsion, but as a matter of choice. As fodder prices have almost doubled in the last few months, more and more farmers in the state are opting for the traditional manual method of harvesting the standing wheat crop as the fodder output through this method is almost 130-140 per cent more than the mechanized harvesters.
