Psychiatrist apologises for gay cure study
Dr Robert Spitzer has apologised to the gay community for his 'fatally flawed' study, which supported attempts to "cure" people of their homosexuality.
The survey, published in 2001, proved that the "reparative therapy" indeed worked and was hailed by religious and social conservatives in America as proof that gay people could successfully become straight if they were motivated to do so.
