In a regulatory filing the company said that the order arrived on the heels of order received from various state transport undertakings recently.
Financial details of the order are yet to be announced. The company's Chief Operating Officer Anuj Kathuria is quoted in the communication as saying, "We are very happy to receive the confirmation of this order. Our ability to bring value, combined with our superior technology and innovation will help us maintain our leadership position in buses in lndia."
Sanjay Saraswat, President-MHCV said, "With this order, our orderbook for state transport undertakings has enhanced significantly. This is a testament to the reliability, durability and robustness of our buses. The cost of ownership and the product experience which we can deliveer is the best in the industry."
Ashok Leyland is currently the fourth largest manufacturer of buses in the world and India's largest bus manufacturer.
Ashok Leyland counters on the Bombay Stock Exchange touched a high of 83.30 (till the time of publishing this story).
