Ahmedabad: If everything works well, social media will be buzzing and streets in the city could be decked with 'Kem Chho, Trump' posters. Expect a firework bigger than the Howdy Modi event in Houston organized last year. A 'Kem Chho, Trump' event, a program similar on the lines of Howdy Modi has been planned as the official welcoming act for US President Donald Trump's official visit to India.
The US President's India visit has been planned during 24 - 25 February 2020.
The 'Kem Chho Trump' event will be organized at the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Stadium with approximately 1.25 lakh witnessing the two big leaders. The event will be 5 times larger than the number of people who had attended the Howdy Modi event.
Kem Chho in Gujarati translates into 'How are you'
In a tweet, Prime Minister Modi hinted at the ongoing preparations for President Trump's two-day visit on February 24, saying, "Extremely delighted that POTUS Donald Trump and First Lady will visit India on 24th and 25th February. India will accord a memorable welcome to our esteemed guests. This visit is a very special one and it will go a long way in further cementing India-US friendship."
Extremely delighted that @POTUS @realDonaldTrump and @FLOTUS will visit India on 24th and 25th February. India will accord a memorable welcome to our esteemed guests.

India and USA share a common commitment to democracy and pluralism. Our nations are cooperating extensively on a wide range of issues. Robust friendship between our nations augurs well not only for our citizens but also for the entire world.— Narendra Modi (@narendramodi) February 12, 2020
Recalling that "India and USA share a common commitment to democracy and pluralism", the Prime Minister said, "Our nations are cooperating extensively on a wide range of issues. Robust friendship between our nations augurs well not only for our citizens but also for the entire world."
Trump at a press conference in Washington DC on Tuesday revealed that Modi has organized a grand welcome for him in Ahmedabad. "He (PM Modi) said we will have millions and millions of people. My only problem is that last night we probably had 40 or 50,000 people... I'm not going to feel so good... There will be five to seven million people just from the airport to the new stadium (in Ahmedabad)," he quipped.
Sources believe Trump and Modi will have a roadshow at the Ahmedabad airport and could also visit Sabarmati Ashram to pay tributes to Mahatma Gandhi. Later, President Trump will inaugurate Ahmedabad's newly-constructed Sardar Patel Stadium that has a seating capacity of over 100,000 people.
The welcome 'Kem Chho, Trump' to the US President will be accorded at stadium.
All eyes will be fixed on President Trump who is likely to sign a limited trade deal with Prime Minister Modi, ahead of the US Presidential elections later this year. He may also hope to draw votes from the Indian diaspora in the US along with his core constituency for whom he promised securing better terms for trade from America's key trading partners.
The scale of the Kem Chho event is expected to be larger than the Howdy, Modi! event that attracted over 50,000 Indians at the NRG stadium. During Modi's big-event at Houston, a maha-dandiya of 1,000 dancers was organized. Although the official Kem Chho agenda is yet to be announced, a dandiya fest certainly looks probable.
