Engelberg is the name of a of a popular Swiss ski resort town and Mitsubishi wants you to feel the adrenaline of the ski sports activities while driving this latest 7 seater hybrid PHEV SUV.
For a company that sold 200,000 Outlanders since 2013, the focus on the PHEV segment certainly seems too huge to miss. And that was what Trevor Mann, COO for Mitsubishi Motors UK spoke about while giving a glimpse of the product during the show proceedings at Switzerland.
The latest Engelberg Tourer is a PHEV, meaning it is a hybrid. Is backed with features such as S-AWC capability, Dendo Drive House, twin motor PHEV system and a New generation 4 wheel drive technology. According to Kazuhiro Watanabe, Head of Overseas EV Marketing at Mitsubishi All EVs can be charged from home, but only the Engelberg Tourer has the capability to give electricity back to home.
The full Specifications are yet to be revealed by Mitsubishi, but it has been clarified that the Engelberg offers a Pure electric range of 70 kilometers and a total range of 700 km on hybrid combination (full battery full tank). The engine on this one is a 2.4 liter, 4 cylinder petrol engine mated to a 20 kWh battery pack.
There are bright chances that the 2020 Pajero models could drive some inspiration from the Engelberg Tourer. There are also possibilities that Mitsubishi could throw in the same design for the Pajero.
