49 O

Goundamani, Thirumurugan, Jayabalan, Naan Kadavul Rajendran

Comedian Goundamani has made a comeback with ‘49 O’ but sadly the film’s director, Arockiadoss has offered nothing new. It has a shoddy script and amateurish execution. '49 O' is indeed an embarrassing film for the fans of the legendary actor because not even a single scene evoke a smile on our face.

Savuri (Goundamani) is a genuine farmer and he believes that the fertile land is the future of our country. But, sadly all his village people agrees to sell their fertile lands for the real estate business runs by the Karikalan (Thirumurugan), son of powerful politician.

Later Savuri’s farmer folks understand their mistakes and want to get back their farming lands. As politicians are no longer offering helping hands to the village people, Savuri nominates their trust-able candidate but he gets murdered. Now, Savuri starts a movement through which every voter of the constituency starts contesting for elections which in turn brings the plight of the farmers to limelight and they get back their fertile lands
First of all, Arockiadoss’ idea to handle a serious issue is laudable but that alone can’t make a perfect film. ’49 O’ is easily the most grievous film of this year. There is no connecting point in the film and the whole screenplay gets unleashed like a plodding school drama. At least, there could have been few moments for Goundamani’s trademark comedy sequences but at the end of the day, 49 O is an ultimate catastrophe which would exactly gives us the pain of watching the most exasperating film ever.

The production value is below par, dialogues are lifeless and performances are appalling.Overall, stay away from 49 O in that way you can save your precious time and money!

Verdict: Torture
