At the media meet of the film, Muthaiah said: Devarattam is not a caste-based film, I havent glorified any community. Devarattam means a dance performed after tasting the success, it doesnt represent any caste.
My film actually talks about the sister-brother bonding and the common mans anger towards the cruel things happening against women in the society, added Muthaiah.
Muthaiah also heaped praise on Gautham Karthik for his dedication. Only because of the cooperation of the team, we completed the film within fifty-three days, said the director.
The film's producer Gnanavel said, "When I made Attakathi, people said Ranjith is representing one set of community and the same happened to Muthaiah. The thing is these directors make films based on the locality where they grew up, they are not glorifying any particular community".
Manjima Mohan plays the romantic interest of Gautham Karthik in the film which also has Soori, Vela Ramamoorthy, Vinothini and Bose Venkat in pivotal characters
