"I had to say 'no' to Parthiepan's Puthiya Pathai because I couldn't allocate dates. But later I saw the film, felt happy for him. He handled a simple concept in a unique way. Just like SP Muthuraman, Parthiepan earns happiness by making others happy and consider their film events as his own function," said Kamal Haasan.
Kamal also recalled how he missed Shankar's Gentleman. "I remember meeting Shankar at Prasad Studios, he narrated the script of Gentleman but I politely refused due to some unavoidable reason," added Kamal.
Earlier, Parthiepan also told that Kamal was supposed to act in a solo act film forty years back but producers were not ready to bankroll the project. "Most of the producers said 'no' to me and so to make films which I like, started my own production house Raaj Kamal Films," said Kamal Haasan.
