Movie Title

Arjun Sarja

Star Cast

Arjun Sarja, Surveen Chawla, Rahul Dev, Charlotte Claire

The very name Abhimanyu reminds one about the strongest character of Mahabharata, Abhimanyu-son of Arjuna who fought alone, till his last breath, to get out of the maze (Chakravyuha). Arjun Sarja starrer Abhimanyu too is made with a similar plot. It narrates the story of a man who tries to fight corruption in education system and gets webbed unknowingly. The film is based on former president APJ Abdul Kalam?s dream, who wants to see India becoming a superpower by 2020 through the education system.

Protagonist Arjun a hardware techie by profession is also a Karate trainer. He is good at heart and dreams of making the country a better place to live. One fine day he comes across the incident of an entire family committing suicide as they could not bear the cost of their child?s education expenses. Taking this incident as a foothold to root out corruption in education system and bring in a sane, equal education system. He also gets the support from media to fight the same.

He seeks the support of his friend, Suvreen Chawla to help him succeed in the mission. But when he gets into the depth, he realises about the big fishes being involved. With no intension of turning back, he fights the corruption with all his might to accomplish in the mission. How tactfully he does it, will he be able to do it or will he die like Mahabharatha?s Abhimanyu forms the crux of the story.

Arjun wins bumper with his performance! Be it an actor, director or even dialogue writer. He has perfectly blended a commercial cinema with a very relevant social issue. The Oru Naal CM?s charm and quirkiness still exists with him, which is entertaining even after years. The movie is crisp, fast paced, sharply edited with all the relevant commercial elements. With his amazing Karate stunts, at 52, he puts many young actors to shame! Suvreen Chawla has done a decent job as well. She scores well in emotional scenes. She balances the movie as Arjun?s character is full of action and has less room for emotion.

Arjun Janya?s music is apt as an action thriller does not have much scope for soothing or romantic music. The movie is entertaining and also educates masses about the flaws in education system. The movie is definitely a must watch and Arjun?s dare to make an action flick with a message is truly commendable.
