Junior NTR, Aarthi Agarwal,Nagma
A mass movie aimed at showcasing Junior NTR?s current superstar image. He is a one-man entertainment circus who does comedy, dance and fight. The story has similarities with a lot of mass family movies in the past in the Alludu genre. But who cares? As said earlier every superstar in his early career has done similar roles like Allari Alludu and Gharana Mogudu.
The story is nothing new but a modern day version of The Taming Of The Shrew. Chamundeswari (Nagma) is an arrogant rich businesswoman who believes that she can buy anything under the sun with her money. She treats her husband (Parameshwar Rao (Naresh) like a doormat and dominates both father and daughter Maithili (Aarthi Agarwal). Ramakrishna alias Ramu enters her house as a servant and slowly wins over the lady. Everybody in the house likes his innocence and sincerity and soon he is the apple of their eye. He has a cousin Rukmini (Gajala) who is madly in love with him, but Ramu loves Maithili. When Chamundeswari comes to know about this, she calls her father and five brothers to come and help her to drive Ramu away from the house. Maithili?s marriage is fixed with a minister?s son (Vizag Prasad). When all of them manhandle Ramu, his grandfather enters the scene (K.Viswanath) and reveals his true identity. Ramu leaves the house swearing to marry Mathili on a particular day, but there is a problem as she is a minor. In the long drawn out climax Ramu takes on Chamundeswari and the thugs. Will he marry Maithili?
It is Nagma as Chamundeswari who steals the show in a negative role. Junior has tried to improve on his acting but apes his grandfather in most of the scenes. But the boy has matured into a mass hero with this film. Aarthi Agarwal is cute but she has put on weight in this film. Parchuri brothers have written good punchlines, which will go well with the masses. Music of R.P.Patnaik is foot tapping and good. On the whole director B.Gopal has worked well on NTR?s mass masala image.
Verdict: ?Masala? Entertainer.
A film about love and loneliness in a big city
A formulaic nationalistic film
Friendship review: A watchable entertainer
he film picks up the momentum in the last twenty minutes only
