After the disaster result of ‘Naa Peru Surya’, Allu Arjun desperately wanted to act in a light-hearted entertainer to target youth and family audiences. He felt Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety would be apt for remaking it in Telugu. However, Trivikram didn’t like it and refused to remake it. Thus ‘Ala Vaikunthapurramloo’ happened. The rest is history. ‘Ala Vaikunthapurramloo’ has emerged as a non-Bahubali hit.
What will happen to the remake of ‘Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety’ which was bought for high prices? Bunny Vasu and GA2 Picture hold the rights for it but this film may not work out now. No young star is showing much interest. Because the trend of remaking love stories from other languages is not working in Tollywood these days.
Looks like the remake rights will be wasted.
