`Anniyan` sweeps Filmfare Awards!

Anniyan swept the Filmfare Awards bagging 8 out of 15 awards announced for Tamil cinema. The function was held at the Nehru Indoor stadium in Chennai on Sep 9 evening.

Anniyan won the Best picture (producer Oscar Ravichandran), Best Actor (Vikram) Best Director (Shankar), Best Cameraman (Ravi Varman, Manikandan), Best Art Director (Sabu Cyril), Best Music Director (Harris Jayaraj), Best choreographer (Peter Haynes), Best Lyricist (Vairamuthu).

In the Best Actress Category Asin walked away with the award for her performance in Ghajini. She made a small but sweet speech and thanked director Murugadoss. Vikram thanked everyone and also made it a point to bring his mother (it was her birthday) and made the audience wish her. There were dance performances by Shobana, Malavika, Reema Sen, Shriya, Namitha and Meghna Naidu.
